Handover

Handover

At the meeting of the club at the beginning of July, the short but significant ceremeony of the handover took place.

New President Jane had just received the chain of office, the President-Elect Mike is on the left, and immediate past president Derek is on the right.

President's Night

President's night, this year a black-tie affair, was held on 7th June at the Hartnoll Hotel.

We are not sure why Preident Derek was on his knees talking to Past President Barney! Whatever the reason, President-Elect Jane seemed to be enjoying it.

Bampton Spring Fest

Bamptonh Duck RaceAlways a very popular event: The Duck Race held at SpringFest on May 27, part of various activities throughout the day.

As you can see, the Rotary Duck Race attracts many supporters who are not afraid to get their feet wet in support of rescuing ducks before they get swept out to sea!

£285 was raised - less than last year perhaps because of the weather.

Exmoor Youth Challenge

A great day with over 400 young people managing the 16 mile course and getting their medals at the end.

Check out Youth Challenge page for much more information and team results!

Quiz Trophy Presentation

The trophy for the Brainiest pub of the seven taking part in our inter-pub quiz was presented to the Red Lion at Oakford.

They won by just one point from The George, Brompton Regis, with the others close behind.

Money raised at the event will be going to Calvert Trust (Exmoor).

Exmoor Challenge

Shelterbox Lunch

On 15th January the Club held its annual charity community Sunday Lunch in aid of Shelterbox. This has happened every year since the SE Asian tsunami in 2004, and in that time we have raised money for over 80 Shelterboxes. Final figures are not yet available for this year, but we should be able to donate enough for another 2 Shelterboxes.

This is a wondeful charity which provides tents and basic essentials for those made homeless by natural disasters or conflicts.

Kids' Xmas Party

Exmoor Rotary sponsored the Bampton kids Xmas party and everyone had a whale of a time.

Seen here is the group with the entertainer Ozzy-D who brought a spot of magic and mayhem to the proceedings!
