Canine Parners is an amazing charity which trains dogs to assist and to act as carers to disabled people. Exmoor Rotary arranged to have an open talk about the charity in March 2009.
At the Town Hall in Dulverton we were delighted to welcome Wendy with her dog Edward, and Shirley with her dog Juneau. They gave us a great insight into how the dogs were transforming their everyday lives
The talk was given by Malcolm Watts OBE, a dynamic, amusing, and very moving speaker.
To undertsand how much these amazing dogs contribute to the lives of those they are assisting, do read an account from Sheila about a year in the life of her dog and particulay the sort of training the dogs go through - and enjoy. Juneau's Diary - here
