Welcome to the Rotary Club of Exmoor

Registered Charity No. 1123838
Member Club of of Rotary International in Great Britain & Ireland
District: 1170 Club: 1356
During the Rotary year July 2008 to June 2009, our club raised a total amount of £28,000 for charity. At a time of financial recession and in a rural area, this shows massive generosity by our many supporters and friends. A huge 'thank you'. To find out where it went, check out our CHARITIES page.

This web-site shows something of what being a Rotarian is all about. We are a group of men and women who meet together regularly and our guiding principle is 'Service Above Self' - we organise a number of different events during the year to raise money for charities, some local, some reflecting the international nature of the Rotary organisation. By far the largest support we give is to the Children's Hospice South West, and over the last 10 years we have raised over £75,000 for them, mainly through our two Exmoor Challenges. Some 20,000 children across the UK have medical conditions which means that they will not live to adulthood.

  • The advancement of international understanding, goodwill and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.

Membership:

The Rotary Club of Exmoor covers a wide area. Our 34 members come from Bampton, Dulverton, Brushford, Uffculme, and Minehead, as well as other villages and hamlets on and around Exmoor and the Exmoor National Park.

Meetings:

We meet each Tuesday lunchtime at 12.30pm (for 1.00pm) in the Anchor Inn, Exebridge, and Rotarian visitors are always very welcome. However, Rotarian visitors should avoid the first Tuesday of each month as this is a 'working lunch' when we hold our Council Meeting. See 'Location' for directions.
